Light

I am but a simple light in the darkness;

No fanfare or commanding presence.

Ready to reveal truth in God’s love;

Lit to proclaim God’s essence above.

On my own, the flame dimly seen;

But gathered with His people;

Create a breathtaking scene.

Flicker or burn out, I can never do

Because the God of the universe

Sustains me and He sustains you.

Do not fear, child of the most Holy

For we reflect the heart of Him wholly.

Carry on until the Day our candles aren’t needed;

Where God’s glory is the light, and death is defeated.
