Easter Pieces

A fresh-out-of-the-box 1,000 piece puzzle was dumped out onto a desk. I took a picture of the heap – cluttered and confused, upside down and intermingled. Then, after a few weeks of diligence, the puzzle was completed. I took another picture of the finished product, which was a stark contrast to the original picture of the heap. Like the initial picture of the puzzle, sometimes we don’t see where the pieces fit together or how God is going to work something out in our lives. The disciples of Jesus didn’t at first, either. His crucifixion was a puzzle to them; they didn’t understand what was happening…until the resurrected Christ showed Himself and opened their eyes. God has a plan. And He has a plan for you. During the process of fitting the pieces of our lives together, it can be difficult for us to envision what the finished product will look like. Some pieces are dark, representing the difficult times we all face. Some are vibrant-colored, like sweet memories and hope. Others are oddly shaped and we can’t figure out how they even fit! Sometimes we only think about the picture of the heap of pieces and wonder if God is using them. He is. And when the picture is complete, you’ll be amazed. John 13:7. Mark 9:30-32. John 20:1-9. Luke 24:44-48. Romans 8:28. Jeremiah 29:11-13.
