Question

My devo today is a bit more interactive. I am curious to know – why is fantasy so huge in our culture? Books, movies, games, social media – basically anything that takes away from reality. We are fed so much fantasy, that we need doses of reality to stay grounded. Why is this? Feel free to comment :).

Philippians 4:8. 1 Corinthians 14:20. Matthew 6:22-23.

I believe we are fed fantasy to distract us from reality. For some it is used as a coping mechanism that helps them deal or not deal with life’s realities for other is it is where they find solace. Sadly fantasy never satisfies what the heart and mind are truly desperate for which is a peace the surpasses understanding and that only comes from God. Fantasy is fleeting Gods needed peace is eternal.

That is beautiful and I agree 100%, mercymuse. Thank you for your reply! It’s also quite addicting, as well, which is unfortunate. Just like how Fast Food, although it’s tasty and quick, has averse affects on our health. It’s all about taking the time to be healthy – not just physically, but spiritually, as well. Thank you!
