What Is Freedom to You?

Many of my beloved readers are from different countries. As you may know, I am from the US and today is our “Independence Day.” It causes me to think about “freedom.” Even though it seems America has an abundance of freedoms, we are still imprisoned by many things: distraction, sinfulness, indifference, hatred, and so much more. Our society is growing increasingly cold in its relationship to the founding upon the Lord God. Freedom can be subjective, but is definitive. There are countries where tolerance of Christianity or God is low, yet a believer can experience pure freedom in loving God through worship in their heart and with other “underground” believers. What does freedom mean to you? No matter where you’re from, don’t claim independence from God. True freedom is in the Lord Jesus Christ. When we give into rebellion with our sinful words, actions, or thoughts, we forget the One who broke our spiritual chains and His purpose and plan for us. Life isn’t easy. But freedom is sure in Christ. Regardless of where you live, your status or circumstance, are you truly free today? Romans 6:23. 2 Timothy 2:8-9. Psalm 116:16-17. John 3:16-17.
