I visited a historical landmark of a society that was extreme and believed in celibacy – men and women living apart from one another never to join. Not surprisingly, this radical group became extinct as they had no offspring. They ignored God’s blessings of marriage, procreation, and unity for His glory. Isolation. For those out there who are married, are you isolated today? Not necessarily physically, but emotionally, mentally, relationally… spiritually? Is your marriage teetering on the verge of extinction? As one who has been through the fire and trials of isolation in a marriage, let me encourage you – don’t stop praying. Don’t give up. Be in fervent communication with the Lord, look in your own eye for that pesky plank, don’t lose faith, and trust in the Creator of your heart. He knows you and the heartaches you’ve endured. God can change the heart and mind of your spouse, but first, allow Him to change yours. Don’t isolate. Be open. Communicate. Your marriage can be saved from extinction.
