Tear-Stained Pages

I can write poetry or prose;

Write as eloquently as all of those

Who’ve gone before and led the way.

Yet, in the purpose of each day

In the paper or with the pen,

A humbled heart, You won’t condemn.

You’ve shown me, Lord,

That the words more beautiful than any chord

Are words we utter on tear-stained pages.

Such words tear us from fear’s cages.

Such words remind us of eternity

And spring us into action for Your City.

The words that no one else will see.

The word that are just for You, from me.
