Imagine… Snow is falling, and it’s quiet in the room. A steaming cup of coffee greets you as you’re wrapped in warm blankets. Your Bible is open, prayers flow from your heart to the throne of God without distraction. Can you see and feel the scene?
This was the exact serene picture for me this morning. I had woken earlier than the rest of my household and was enveloped in my time with the Lord. In a moment of pure thankfulness and bliss, I thought to myself, “I wish this could be all the time; forever.” A still, small voice whispered back, “It will be.” Tears instantly filled my eyes as I looked out at the snow-covered trees and falling flakes, knowing that heaven will be perpetual worship and a place of peace, completion, and solace.
What a speechlessly beautiful notion – to know that there is a place like that moment of worship and it exists because of God’s goodness and love. It is being prepared right now. For you. For me. We each have inside of us a desire for a place that’s out of this world – our home in heaven.
We trust God in the moments we are here in this sinful and dark world, because we know where our hope comes from and where our hope will lead us someday. Don’t give up the good fight, friends. Keep pushing on to what we know is promised to all who believe and trust in the Lord – heaven. It will be everything that He said it will be.
