One-Hit Wonder?

You know the bands of yesteryear – the ones that came like a flash, their one and only hit song immortalized by culture and humanity. Chances are, you can list off a few one-hit wonder bands and songs that you remember and may even love to this day.

Let’s think about the word, “wonder” for a moment. Has there been a definitive time or particularly memorable moment in your life when you experienced and relished the awesome wonder of God? Did He show up in a powerful way that wasn’t easily forgotten?

Perhaps you’re like me and you cling to that wonder – that one defining moment of God’s redemption and gracious favor. To me, it was God’s big triumph in my life and, if I’m being honest, I didn’t put much thought into what He could do in the future…until I realized this truth: God isn’t a One-Hit Wonder!

Generation after generation, God reveals His wonder to the nations.

He continues to bless us on an intimate and personal level, as well. Every day. By His mercy and grace, He shows us His power and might, displaying His glory to His people. Beautiful wonders.

That memorable moment of unsurpassed wonder isn’t the end of God’s loving grace upon your life or mine. It’s exciting and comforting to look forward in faith to what God has in store as we walk another day on this earth and beyond. He is the God of many many many wonders.
