One Day

Testing and trying, the enemy persists,

Wanting and waiting, my heart does resist.

Beyond the touch of human knowns,

For heavenly respite, weary souls groan.

Fleeting and flying are thoughts of mine.

Pushing and pulling; yearning for the Divine.

One day, the gleaming shores will draw nigh;

One day, we’ll never have to say “goodbye.”
