I’m not sure about you, but when plans change in my arena of life, I tend to become upset at first, and then remember God’s plan. It’s not to hurt me, but to teach, train, protect, and love me. When things don’t go our way, as they oftentimes don’t, our human nature can interfere and produce our human reaction first.
They say that the youngest child in every family is spoiled… I have to attest that that is somewhat true for me! I wanted to be at the center! I wanted to be first! I wanted things my way! But… breathe. We are not the center of ourselves – God is. It’s good to remember that fact when things don’t go the way we plan. If we surrender our path, foregoing what we planned for ourselves, you’ll find that God’s way is always better and higher. He promises to guide us – and He will. If we trust Him and lay down our selfish agendas, there will be blessings that await us… and sometimes not this side of heaven. Take courage, dear friend. Press forward with God directing your plans. Don’t give up. Psalm 37:5. Psalm 119:35. Proverbs 3:5-6. Jeremiah 29:11. Isaiah 55:9.
