Choices

Sometimes I wonder why people say, “it was meant to happen this way.” Many people believe that God’s intended plan for our lives is default and will happen no matter what, no matter our choices, good or bad. Was that the case with the fall of man? The Lord knows everything and He sees everything, but just like in the garden of Eden, He gives humankind a choice. Before it even happened, He knew that their decision would lead to the fall of man and a chain reaction of evil for generations that would need to be rectified by the sacrifice of His only Son. We must realize that this broke His heart, even though He knew it was going to happen. He wants to give us a choice. Some of our choices lead us to areas that God did not desire for us, and we play it off as His plan just because it happened to us. But, brothers and sisters, we need to be in constant, careful, intentional study of the Bible and listen to His voice by humbling ourselves and realizing that yes, God loves us…even enough to let us choose. We do have a choice – we are not puppets or robots. God wants to see us thrive through trials and make choices that honor Him. Study His Word. Humble yourself. Choose wisely. Joshua 24:15. Proverbs 3:31-32. Proverbs 1:29-31. Matthew 7:13-14. Psalm 119:4-5.
